Remember the time when we were eleven or twelve? How much we fantasized about our upcoming teenage? All the story books and the TV shows promised that our teenage was going to be different from the childhood or adolescent stage. It truly was different. The teenage dream ended when we stepped into adulthood and now when we look back, we realize how much the teenage years changed us. The
The teen-age was not necessarily a very easy phase of life as we expected. But we had our favorite TV shows to lend a hand every time our hearts got broken, the first time we realized that something had to be done in life, every time our crush smiled at us, each time we fought with our best friends, every time we faced misunderstanding with our mom dad and every other difficult time we faced during our teenage.
Thanks to the TV shows which made all our problems look a lot easier to tackle. Let’s sit back and take a joyride back in time to cherish all the memories these TV shows had gifted us.
1. ONE TREE HILL
This is an American television drama series to which almost all of us could relate. The show revolved around a number of themes like friendship, love, betrayal and rivalries. The show explores the reasons behind each of them. The show explored how the parents of the teens committed some little mistake which was reflected in the lives of the teenagers. We loved watching the basketball matches and cheering for the Ravens.
Overall the show revolving around the lives of Lucas Scott, Nathan Scott, Payton Sawyer, Haley and others brought us face to face with the problems we had to face especially during our late teenage.
2. LIZZIE McGuire
This is a teen sitcom starring Hillary Duff which was aired on Disney Channel. We loved this show mainly because of the three friends, Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo. We loved how the three of them were just like us. Their daily events in school were really relatable with us. Along with Lizzie, Miranda and Kate, we were also guilty of developing a really strong crush on the most popular and best-looking boy in Lizzie’s school who was also an athlete. The icing on the cake was the animated version of Lizzie who did the soliloquy telling Lizzie about her actual feelings every time Lizzie tried to be someone she was not.
After a difficult day at school, this show was all we looked up to as it gave us solace with the fact that just because one is not popular in school does not mean that he/she cannot outsmart a popular girl like Kate and Claire.
3. POWER RANGERS
We love watching superheroes fighting for our world even today, don’t we? During our teenage, we absolutely loved watching the various power rangers’ series. We all had our own favorites and the favorite ranger in each of these series. Power Rangers S.P.D, Power Rangers Mystic force, Power Rangers Jungle Fury, Power Rangers Dino Thunder were few among the various series of Power Rangers. I’m very sorry if I did not mention your favorite one! Each of the squads of rangers had different motives and goals to reach which they fought against terrible villains.
If you never wanted to be a doctor, after watching this TV show, you must have changed your mind. Amidst all the ‘saas-bahu’ drama that congested the Indian television, Sanjivani was very different from others. It revolved around the lives of four doctors, Dr. Rahul, Dr. Juhi, Dr. Simran and Dr. Omi. We saw how they learnt about life and how much they were dedicated to the profession.
The show not only revolved around the medical profession, it also revolved around the personal lives of the characters—their love life, friendship and about the negative vices like jealousy.
Who did not love this show? We loved watching the adventures of Ash with his Pokémon, Pikachu. They traveled across the world to earn the title of Pokémon master. Thankfully, even after we are adults now, Pokémon is back in the form of a game called Pokémon go and we got a chance to relive our teenage again!
6. DRAKE AND JOSH
We loved both the brothers, the super cute and popular, Drake and the nerd Josh. It was great to watch the two of them coming so close to each other even after being poles apart. Megan always had the motive of making the lives of her elder brothers’ hell and we could not be more annoyed with the little devil!
7. JASSI JAISI KOI NAHIN
This was another Indian TV series we all loved which aired on Sony entertainment television. We loved how Jassi, even after not being able to live up to the definition of being beautiful, survived so well in a fashion house named Gulmohar. Our love for her kept growing as she continued to win hearts and become successful even after facing the regular scorns of the so-called pretty people at the workplace.
